The Mocha Hurricane, or Ms.Mocha, or better yet, just plain ole Mocha. I'm an amateur singer and songwriter that's only newly discovered the creative freeing qualities that music making software and an internet connection can supply. To be quite simple - THIS - IS - AWESOME! I originally came here to just hang out, play around and see what this was all about and now it seems, I've caught the music bug and have systematically set to work at giving the music world a bit of an explore, and also a few contributions.
So far, I'm diggin it.
I've been singing since I was little, but sort of fell off the 'singer' wagon. I would have better bet that I was the type that likes to be in the spotlight, but that's apparently not necessarily true. It seems I'm rather shy.
(Who knew!) But, I'm getting over it, and now you get to be here for the 'grand reopening'!

Why this name?

Believe it or not, a co-worker called me that once, and it stuck lol!

Do you play live?

Presently, I get most of my gigs in my shower. Acoustics are fantastic...not very good pay though. Special moments when I sang live...hmm. I think anytime I ever called my mom and sang to her over the phone was pretty special....I'm sure she'll agree. ;D

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

For people like me that want to get their feet wet and try this, it's ideal. The people that support what you do, and what you put out there will get you to where you need to go, or where you're destined to be. (After all, you're nothing without fans). All in all, I would say this levels the playing field.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

You know, originally, I thought the idea of that was pretty far fetched, but you truly never know. So, I'm not opposed to it.

Your influences?

There's a long line of musicians and bands that have influenced me. But if specifics is what's intended, I think I'll have to make a list and update this area.

Favorite spot?

I love California! (Right, who wouldn't! LOL!) And I have an affinity for Chicago as well.

Mostly computer software. I also play piano and keyboards.

I don't happen to be anything....it was intentional....
