Hi, my name is Benedict, and i live in Sydney, Australia.
I was born here, but grew up from the age of 2.5, in London.
I have been making various forms of music since early childhood, and, although untrained, i have managed to pick up a bit of knowledge on a few instruments, and put my songs together using the absolute bare minimum of equipment, not through choice, but because the stuff costs lots of money!
I am going to post a variety of musical styles at times, 'cause that's what rings my bell....

Why this name?
I didn't really, my parents did, Benedict being my first name, and James, one of my middle names.
I suppose i just liked the two of them together.

Do you play live?
Love playing live, but haven't been in a band for some years now.
I would like to get some of my newer songs on the road, but lack the gear and the know-how really.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Bust's it open like a ripe water melon!
Now, within a matter of minutes, or hours, literally hundreds, potentially thousands or more can hear your music, and give you feedback too.
I think the end result may be that musicians remuneration may fall at the top end, but probably not enough to matter.
One thing though, the record industry does act as a filter to keep back the deluge of crap music, but still, everyone deserves their chance to shine, and the good stuff still seems to float to the top of the barrel, so i am all for it!
