Just having fun
We have been having fun for about 15 years. We are three older married guys and have found that playing together once a week relieves a lot of our stress. We play classic rock and roll and some country. Our names are John, rhythm guitar, Pete, Lead Guitar, and Ron rhythm guitar, bass and keyboards. John and Ron due most of the vocals, but our wives help us out from time to time also. We are currently looking for a drummer, but are making due with "Casio" from the silicone valley. We live in Louisiana and some might call us Red necks.
Why this name?
We played a gig for a bunch of "Flower" people. No really, there were a lot of hippies, but they also were very much into raising real flowers. We had everyone put a suggestion in a jar for a band name and at the end of the night we read all the entries and everyone voted. Hippies use side door was the winner
Do you play live?
We play live in Studio 71 every Friday Night. It is a detached garage that my wife Gale designed for us. It's very 70's. Since my wife like to cook, dinner is always provided. We have also played upon request for friends.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It makes life SOOOO much easier. We can share our music and ideas, look up lyrics to any song, get the sheet music, just on and on. It sure has come a long way from running to the record store, buying the album only to get home a find out your needles shot.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Sure, do you know of anyone looking for a garage band?
Band History:
We have been recording our Friday night Jam sessions for the past 15 years. We have written a few songs and have a different take on some classics. We hope to eventually have it all posted here.
Your influences?
Ron is really into Neil Young, Pete is more the Hendrix type and John is everything in between.
Favorite spot?
Shreveport Louisiana
Equipment used:
Old school tube amps and guitars like back in the day.
Anything else...?
Stay tuned for more music and videos coming.
