Motivation
This is your boy Fresh The Flyy Guy, I know you see Fresh "DA" Flyy Guy but thats incorrect soundclick wouldnt accept my name so I improvised, but my name is Fresh The Flyy Guy for the record. I'm an hip-hop artist, business man, song writer, and overall visionary.
Why this name?
From when I younger my older cousin and family members used to call me "Fly Guy" and later on in high school people would call me Fresh, so I just put the two together and became "Fresh The Flyy Guy". Two "Y's" since I'm the CEO and founder of Team Flyy Music Group.
Do you play live?
I mean I don't "play" live but I do perform and stuff like that. I perform wherever the money is.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Of course it does, it opens up the industry to everyone. The internet is a very crucial part of the music industry, place like myspace and this website (soundclick) give people the oppurtunity to get themselves heard with having to know record execs and dj's. At the same time it doesnt make the people who's making music grind the way you used to have to grind, they don't have to press up mad copies of mixtape and push them, they dont have to do wild performances to get they buzz up and stuff, so it's a double-edge sword.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, I would still with a major, but it would have to be a certain type of deal. I'm looking for a label deal since I have my own label (Team Flyy Music Group).
Your influences?
Everything around me influences me. Life in general, but a few artist like Tupac, Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z, Fabolous, Jadakiss, my family, and just the people around me.
