Back in 1992 there were these 4 guys struggling by with nothing but their stunning good looks, and their charisma. Good thing no one noticed! Imagine a time when the northwest was real, and even Yakima had a scene.
Why this name?
I took the name from a friend who had given this name to one of his pipes.
Do you play live?
Not anymore. It's been nearly 10 years since these boys have rocked the house!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Lets people hear the music that would have forever died without it.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Well, Yeah!
Band History:
Anaujiram started as a blues-rock cover band in Feb 1992. By August of 92, a mutual decision was made to concentrate on our original material. These songs were recorded at Yakima's famous "Hearing Hole Studios", in Sept-Nov 1992. Produced by Anaujiram and Kerry Shulte, it was the first recording done at Hearing Hole to break the $300 mark. When the recording was done, the band continued to play at "The Other Club", and at "Roxi's Tav". By Jan. 1993, Dano decided to leave. This brief pause only made us stronger. Dano was soon replaced by Bob Hall, and by April 1993 the bands following nearly quadrupaled. Anaujiram played the Sundome in May 93 and the Tri-cities on Memorial Day weekend of that year, before making a decision to part with lead vocalist, Monty Scott. The band continued on through the summer of 93 with Jason Moore as both Front man & Lead guitarist. In September 93, the band brought in former vocalist for "Mushroom Tea", Jason Underwood, and guitarist Matt Walsh (Vahalla / BroKin Road). Anaujiram played one show with this line-up at Colours in Nov 93. By January 1994, the band was done and we went our seperate ways.
