José Travieso is an andalusian composer and performer born in El Puerto de Santa María (Cádiz) in 1977, teacher as profession and that from time to time explores activily the musical creation just as a hobby, he investigates all kind of styles of composition: experimentation, romanticism, minimalism, jazz, classical, metal, rock…
His musical work is firmed with two names. With JOSE TRAVIESO presents his works for piano and that usually have a sometimes romantic, other times minimalist and experimental character. By the other hand, with the pseudonym of CAUTIVA and in a totally opposite musical context, he writes and records technical and progressive thrash metal, facing the playing of guitars, bass and drums programming as much as vocals. While his work as JOSE TRAVIESO is just for fun, in CAUTIVA he captures his greatest musical ambition.
As JOSE TRAVIESO, some of his best works are: the three pieces serie «Ensayos sobre Música Esporádica» (experimental, 1999), «Raymond Blue» (minimalist romanticism, 2000), «Jazz en Clave Mínimi-Andalusí» (fusion of minimalism, jazz and flamenco, 2002) and the suite in six movements «De Luces y de Sombras» (minimalist romanticism, 2003).
