Ty-Stix started out as an emcee when he was 15 years old, by the age of 18 he had signed a deal with Brookside Records and released his first album entitled "Champagne Wishes". Champagne Wishes went on to sell more than 7,000 copies statewide and was the first stepping stone in Ty-Stix's career. In 2001 Ty-Stix parted ways with Brookside Records to pursue his music career independently. So along with emceeing he decided to start producing and he was a fast learner. By 2004 he was on the verge of signing a deal with Warner Brothers Records, but due to conflict of interest, it never materialized. After a four year hiatus, Ty-Stix hooked up with long time friend .50 cal and formed All City Ent./No Mercy Wrekardz. And From what I hear this is one independent label that is a force to be reckoned with. T. Poindexter "Columbus Heat Magazine"
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
TY-Stix: I think the internet has drastically changed the industry. It makes promotion, and marketing available to indie labels that don't have a big enough budget to incur the costs.
.50cal: It's like a double-edged sword, it helps and it hurts. It helps as far the industry goes, but it's killing the moms and pops records stores.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
TY-Stix : I would possibly sign a deal, but a distribution deal. Because when you sign a deal as an independent label, I feel that you need to have creative control, and publishing rights. Also you need to think about marketing. will the label control your marketing, or you? marketing is especially important. You always have to find your find your "Target Market" with your music. If you do "Crunk Music", Dont expect to sell a million units to a Hip-Hop crowd.
