I am a solo artist and the band name is Lakefire.
Why this name?
Believe or not, the name was conceived at a lake party where we had a nice size party fire..
Do you play live?
Did a few years ago, but have not played live since.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Allows musical artists such as myself to share good music.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Of course! If a record company came knocking at my door and saying that I have something to share to a wider mass, then I am all for it.
Your influences?
I was influenced by metal bands, such as Judus Priest, Michael Schenker, Iron Maiden, etc. Too many to list. But I love Neo-classical/Shredder stuff - guitar stuff that makes your fingers scream!
However, I guess Neal Schon is my favorite guitar player ever since he was with Santana (he was 15 years old, my word, Eric Clapton wanted him in his band as well)

Equipment used:
Currently, I use a 15 watt amp, which kicks ass in tone and sound. Yamaha acoustic, Dean ML ('82), Ibanez RG350MDX, Dean Bass and a nice little DAW, REAPER http://www.reaper.fm. Best DAW I have ever used, the others cost too much, too many bugs and not enough fixes and do not deliver IMO. I also use drum samples courtesy of pipelineaudio http://pipelineaudio.net.
