Well this is something I wanted to try and see what becomes of it. I have found myself enjoying creating different beats. So I figure if I'm a continue this habit I might as well share my creations with the public. Please feel free to leave comments, emails, notes, etc. expressing your thoughts or idea about the beats I will post. Mainly I will have the beats up for sale. Why this name?
The name Mr.Psy started out as a just a alias I used since my education is in the field of psychology. But as I started to get interested in beats I figured I apply the name also for my productions. Music is something that can manipulate the mind just like psychologist can if they choose too.
Do you play live?
No!! all my beats are created from computer software.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet has changed the time aspect of creating and delivering music. Artist and producers can create music at any place at any given time. But as with most positive negatives manifest. The internet has hurt artist in producers because of accessibility and piracy.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I would love to be signed I haven't been making beat for a long time. I would say maybe 8 months I have a lot to learn still. I have never played an instrument so I am at a disadvantage most producers play some sort of instrument.
Your influences?
I have a wide range of influences. Producers I would say Neptunes, Timberland, 9th wonder, Dr. Dre, Manny Fresh, Jermaine Dupri, Puff Daddy, tha runners, scotch storch, kanye west, cool n dre, r.kelly, lil'jon, teddy riley, polo da don, and many others.
Favorite spot?
No place is like being at home with family, so I have to say my town is my favorite.
