Why this name?
2001: a Space Odyssey
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Most of the music that I have discovered over the past few years has been found on the internet. At last, we do not have to listen to the garbage that the industry pushes down our throats. I think it is very obvious that there are some amazingly talented people out there, making some fantastic music, without big contracts.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yeah...
Band History:
This project - Monolith - is a spin off from Odyssey2. That particular band is comprised of two people with similar tastes in music. However, there are also some musical styles on which we do not see eye to eye. And so, due to my love of ambient and classical music - and my desire to ensure that Odyssey2 music is loved by both members of Odyssey2 - I decided to start this project.
Your influences?
Brian Eno, Genesis, Nebula, Tangerine Dream, Pink Floyd, Miles Davis, Claude Debussy, Igor Stravinsky, Odyssey2, Gustav Holst, Tunnels - and lots of ambient stuff made by artists whose names I do not know. I have also found some amazing ambient music here at Soundclick.
Favorite spot?
Outerspace... also Pittsburgh.
