Shadowboxer is an 'acoustic electronica' project comprised of Aidan O'Brien (based in Yateley, Hampshire) and Hayley Martin (based in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire oddly enough). The pair have been actively writing together since mid 2006, conquering their 150 mile division by exchanging ideas over the internet and making time for recording their tracks and playing the odd acoustic show inbetween University terms.
They are currently in the process of writing their first EP, and the two tracks which can be heard on this page are examples of their results so far. To contact the band, either message this account by clicking here or e-mail them directly at shadowboxer@shadowboxer.co.uk.

Why this name?
It was shamelessly stolen from a Fiona Apple song, at a time when the band was more of a solo project. The idea of shadowboxing - fighting yourself to improve, seemed profound at the time.
Do you play live?
We're working up to that at the moment.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I'm not sure anyone can really tell the long term effects, because the industry is still scrambling to keep up with the increase in P2P sharing. I think that the fact it takes power away from the labels is a good thing, but sadly not as much of that power is going to the artists as it should be.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes. At the end of the day, we've all got to eat.
