Why this name?
We had a really hard time coming up with a band name. We would come up with one & then find out it was taken or it wasn't as appealing as we initially thought. We settled on 37 Seconds because there are a lot of really cool connotations behind the name. Here are a couple: 1:)It takes 37 seconds for an idea to enter into a person's mind and either be accepted or rejected. 2)There was a signal from outerspace in 1977 called the WOW signal. It lasted just 37 seconds and if there was ever a time where an attempt at contact by another Alien civilization, it was then. 31 years later and astronomers still dont' know what it was.
Do you play live?
We don't play live as of yet. We are working on a demo CD which is taking first priority. Once that is completed we will focus on completing our line-up and then get out there and play.
Band History:
Formed in the spring of 2007, This project currently is comprised of:
James McNeil (Lead Vocals, guitars) and
Ben Roussel (Lead Guitar, bass, backing vocals).
Responding to an ad on Bandmix.ca, Ben contacted James and arranged a meeting with the other two members of the band. One might say it was fate. Everyone immediately clicked and the band began to take on a purpose.
The nameless group planned out a set list covering other artists which would be performed live but the main focus would be on writing and performing original material. This was established early on and was agreed to by all parties. As the set list began to take shape, the band slowly started to dissolve. There was less and less focus on original songs and much more emphasis placed on getting the "covers" down by the bass player and drummer. Not long after this, the bass player quit leaving a space that needed be filled. Several bass players later, the band appeared to be back on the fast track to success but once again conflict reared its ugly head.
Once on fire, the band now known as Whisper Kill officially came to an end. James and Ben decided to continue to work together and from the ashes arises a new band with a new direction and a new name: 37 Seconds
