I'm JackTheFunk, i'm 24 and live in Bradford, UK. I write music in between partying and being full time dad to my awesome little boy. I got into electronic music when my bandmate showed me some software. I was hooked from day one. I write a little bit of everything, but i have soft spots for psytrance, breakbeat, electro house and chillout stuff.
Why this name?
Umm... I'm jack, and i like the funk.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I disagree with people when they say it will be the downfall of the music industry. Life is change, and i think we're seeing a radical shift in emphasis from the expensively produced major artists toward more of the bedroom producers and people in home studios. This can only be a good thing as anyone can get heard and get their stuff out there.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yeah, Its still a dream of mine to make a living from music, and i got a family to support.
Band History:
Just me, a computer and an increasing list of freeware for the last 7 years.
Your influences?
Infected mushroom, shpongle, plaid, chemical brothers, house, dance, DnB, chillout, Tool, System of a Down, Pink Floyd, a whole bunch of stuff really.
Favorite spot?
Bradford. It's a bit of a dive, but I've made friends here i'll have for life.
Equipment used:
Just a pc, an old rikter keyboard as a midi controller, and all the freeware i can get.
