Band History:
April's professional start came as backup singer for aspiring Nashville artist TERRY RADIGAN, opening for established acts including America and, during one memorable evening at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, New Jersey, The Band featuring Bruce Springsteen as a special guest. April also sang backup vocals in the studio for MELBA MOORE under producer GENE McFADDEN in New York City. April has performed as a soloist on cable and national television programs, as well as various live stages in New York City, Los Angeles and Nashville.
After entertaining a production deal with Broadbeard Productions (Debbie Gibson) in the dance-rock genre, April decided to instead form a straight-ahead original hard rock band in New York City, recording a CD mostly of her original rock songs titled “Dancin’ Thru The Mine Fields," produced by DANIEL WISE (Joan Osborne, Scissor Sisters, Maceo Parker). As an artist, April’s vocal performances have been characterized as “powerful, yet vulnerable," and likened to Pat Benatar and Linda Ronstadt by industry professionals and her peers. April's original rock band performed in major NYC rock clubs, including The Cat Club, The China Club, and The Marquee. Her next release was a solo album of original adult contemporary songs titled “Watercolors Fade," which she co-produced with STEVE SKINNER (Rent, Celine Dion, Jewel).
As a composer and lyricist, April was honored in New York City with an Abe Oleman Scholarship from the National Academy of Popular Music (nominated by BMI), has written with hit songwriters ALEX FORBES (Taylor Dayne "Don't Rush Me", Alicia "Too Turned On", Joey Lawrence, and other pop artists), JON ROBBIN (Lorrie Morgan "I Guess You Had To Be There", Chris Cagle, and more),
ANNA LISA GRAHAM (George Strait "You Know Me Better Than That", Martina McBride, Alan Jackson and other country artists), and WILL RAMBEAUX (Heart “Stranded”, Faith Hill “Wild One”, and other country artists) and collaborated with several staff writers of major Nashville music publishers including Wrensong, Milsap-Galbraith, Ten Ten Music, and Starstruck.
April’s vision of writing songs with a universal message of living authentically, "naked" and passionately has remained unshakable over the years. She has won song awards, and some of her songs are currently being aired on Women of Substance Radio online. April is currently working on an original pop/rock album for independent release 2010 and licensing her songs to other artists/film/TV. Her most recent compositions include the thought-provoking edgy commercial rock tune titled "THE 8TH DAY" (ala Daughtry, Nickelback), asking God what happens now; indie rock "GIANT" (ala Radiohead), a subconscious flow of wanting to be important and bigger in life; indie rock/punk "HEARTLAND" (ala Paramore), a compelling song of the journey to one's heart written for a friend; indie pop/rock "UNPAINTING PORTRAITS", a very personal song to her father about forgiveness and love; and the smooth pop/country tune "NO ONE ELSE BELONGS HERE" co-written with Dean Landon and Anika Paris.
April is currently songwriting in Nashville and Northern California and collaborating with co-writers in NYC, LA, Nashville and overseas. She is shopping her material to film/TV as well as commercial recording artists internationally.

love song of sorts
a song of forgiveness and growing up
Using the metaphor of an absent father, this is a song written to God asking what would happen if He left us because we have been behaving so badly; really saying please don't leave us now.
(Jenny Gill - vocals) The desperate emotion of loneliness and distance in a romantic relationship.
A journey of unconditional love.
(Jenny Gill - vocals) A song about tolerance; the wisdom of a young girl when told dandelions are just weeds
(Matt Dame - vocals) Wanting an authentic and meaningful relationship where both lovers do not hide there vulnerabilities.
(Matt Dame - vocal) Encouraging someone you love to allow themselves to let love in; to not be afraid of love and open up and let you love them.
Rising above the noise and finding one's own voice -- discovering a sense of purpose.
(Kira Small - vocalist) A cheating song and she knows it when he gives her only 11 red roses.
As the title implies.
The emotion of loneliness in a romantic relationship and the moment of the desperate cry out to the distant partner when reality sets in that the relationship is fading away.
Image-filled and provocative lyric describing the writer's journey to unconditional love for a parent previously held in judgment; adult contemporary/classical feel
(Kim Parent - vocalist) Fun, sassy, sexy love song about a tomboy who falls in love and now feels like a woman.
(Jenny Gill - vocals) Reflections after leaving a dysfunctional relationship.
(Kira Small - vocalist) A fun, sassy, sexy tale about a little girl who was a tomboy coming into womanhood and falling in love.
About asking someone to be vulnerable in love and let you into their heart.
Leaving a painful / dysfunctional relationship.
(Nashville studio vocalist) About the savior complex in relationship, where someone falls in love because they've found someone they think they need to save -- then it only causes them to drown.
(Nashville studio vocalist) A song about a cheating lover in the bible belt.
(Written by Alex Forbes) Finding love that makes you feel like your heart has found a home.
Sad but realistic view of dysfunction love and honoring oneself by leaving a bad situation.
(DUET w/Jesse Evans) Starting a new relationship but holding back in the fear of it not working out, and coming around to trust and love.
Cynical view of love and religion yet yearning to believe.
(DUET w/Daniel Wise) The battle for power between two people in love or perhaps simply in lust; love-hate romance.
Angry at an ex-lover who left you.
Image-filled reflections of being in love with someone not able to love because of lack of self-worth.
Talking to someone who is giving up on themselves and life and reminding them of the light at the end of the tunnel, so to speak -- not to give up; offering encouragement.
Breaking free emotionally from an influence that encouraged you to repress your feelings.
About a woman who is looking for miracles in love and life -- if she reads the bible, she find love -- if she plays the lottery, she'll be rich -- believing if she does the 'right' things, happiness is just around the corner.
Pissed off at an ex-lover for cheating on you, telling them not to come around you again.
