Why this name?
Back when I was a Rider, the BROTHERS of the road used that Moniker and it stuck. Many years ago I could be found around a camp fire or at a rally entertaining and being part of the party.
Do you play live?
Yes I play live shows. I'm allways looking for a gig, event or jam.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The big labels sharks are the main motivation for this Indy scene. I'm happy to see it happen and wonder why it took so long.
Still the drop in sales and marketability was an unforseen casulty. MP3s are a great way to spread the message but a terrible way to make a living. So it's time to build a fan base and fill some halls!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Not without some great legal advisor I had total faith and confidence in (and that aint too likely)
Band History:
I've been around as a musician for many years. But then I'm also a fairly new artist. After I awoke from the coma, I had to learn everything all over. Not just music, EVERY Thing.
In 2007 I was one of two award winners from the North Dakota Council on the Arts. A few years before that I was a two time winner of the Swamp Stomp competition down in the Carolinas.
Your influences?
Croce, Vaughn, Cash, Clapton, Dylan and the list goes on!
Favorite spot?
Western North Carolina. If you've seen the movie Cold Mountian, then you've seen where I want my bones planted. :)
Equipment used:
Yamaha FG 12 string accoustic
Seagull S6+CW (the one with the Godin pre)
Washburn X series electric
Anything else...?
Just to let folks know, When I released my debut album "ScuffleTown Blues" I made the decision to only produce a limited run of 500. This was mainly due to the mechanical license rights rules. As a way of giving back, I gifted the first two dollars off the top to go straight to the local food pantry. There are a few CDs left, but they are sold on a first come first served basis. If you have a copy of my album and would like to help me help the food pantry, get in touch with me for their contact information.
This is a wonderful service that does fantastic work within the aging and poor community.
