Do you play live?
Right now I am just working on finishing my CD, after that is done, then I will start booking engagements, mainly in jazz hot spots such as, Bakers Keyboard in Detroit, a place where a lot of famous artist started and still entertain at Bakers.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, I would sign with a major label as long as I would have some control over my music.
Band History:
Nathan is not new to the music industry, he started playing trumpet in elementary school in his home town Detroit, he knew then that music was his calling. Nathan has played with many well known recording artist such as David Ruffin, formerly of the Temptations, the late jazz guitarist, Grant Green, Walter Jackson, Leslie Wilson, lead singer of Newbirth and many more artist. While attending Central High School in Detroit, Nathan joined the Central High School jazz band and played drums for the schools winter and spring concerts and Centrals chior, the Trubadours with Shirley Jones of the Jones Girls. After leaving High school, Nathan went on tour in Japan, the Phillipines and Hong Kong with the Marion Gaines Singer, a rhythm and blues Gospel group.
Nathan's musical style was influenced by his tour and love of Asia and India which you will hear in the completed version of his CD. Nathan incorporates the Sitar, a well known instrument of India, Japanese and Chinese music scales combined with smooth keyboard pads, jazzy melodies, some hiphop backbeats, and jazz fusion bass lines. Nathan will also incorporate the Mandolin in his music This combination Nathan believes will inspire a new type of smooth jazz for your listening pleasure. So get ready! for some new sweet, mellow, smooth jazz.
