"The Overstreets" are a Country Christian duo residing in Yountville Ca. They sing the Gospel songs of yesteryear as well as Original songs written by Betty. Sound trax for Betty's original songs are created/mastered by John Covert of Northern Calif.
They are available to travel to any location that God leads them to. They have preformed in churches in California, Colorado, Missouri and Tenness and also visit Senior care homes as often as possible.
They are now scheduling a 2009 tour that will take them into Oregon, Washington and possibly back to Colorado. Contact them if you have a need for them in these areas.

Why this name?
Simple, we couldn't think of anything better than our own last name!
Do you play live?
We sing with prerecorded music trax so we have the sound of a full band. We sing on a regular monthly basis at about 10 Senior care homes in the San Francisco bay area as well as churches, private parties, and where ever God leads us. We love our music filled life! Gary never dreamed of singing until he met and married me, now he is lovin' it as much as I do!!
Special moments to me are the times when I am singing and I see tears slipping down cheeks-then I know my music has touched their heart and God has slipped His loving arms around them....

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I don't know enough about it at this time to comment
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I would certainly consider it. I am more interested in getting some of my songs into the hands of some artists who know how to get them on the air.
Band History:
Betty has been performing publicly since she was a ten or twelve year old in the church choir. She began performing professionally in 1986 or 87 in the Country Western field. In 1988 she traveled to Nashville to record some songs, releasing one, "Let the sandman wait", which traveled to the top 100 on Cashbox charts.
Gary became a part of the act about seven years ago after walking down the isle and saying "I Do". He didn't realize at the time just what all that "I Do" incompassed!!
They made a cross country tour during the fall of 2007 singing in Churches and Senior Retirement residences throughout Colorado, Missouri and Tennessee.

Your influences?
Betty has been discribed during a radio interview as sounding like a " Husky Patsy Cline". When performing Country music we lean toward the songs of the 60-80's with some Leann Rymes, Shania Twain and Forrester Sisters. Our Christian concerts are the wonderful old hymns such as "in the garden, Rock of Ages and Amazing grace and songs by Bill Gaither.
Of course we add my original songs to any program we do. we always close our Country Western shows with a Christian song.

Favorite spot?
our home town of Yountville, California, in the heart of the Napa Valley vineyards. However, we really fell in love with the area around Fairfield Glade Tennessee where we provided the music for a Cowboy Church one Sunday on our cross country tour.
Equipment used:
Mostly Peavey sound sytem with our Kareoke deck to play the music trax.
Anything else...?
We have also provided music on two mission trips to the island of St Vincent way down south of Florida, about a hundred miles west of Barbados! What a wonderful experience! And we are considering a trip to Nigeria in the future. We have been invited by two different ministers there and feel God is leading us there but we are still praying for Him to make it very clear to us that it is His will and not our own.
