Welcome to the music of To A Generation.

All information here is written by Sam Bosco (Bass)
Why this name?
To A Generation has gone through many many names such as Slate, No Turn On Red, Faded Reign, Rhymes With Orange, anf finally To A Generation. Ben (Guitar) thought of a name that could be an acronym and so he thought of T.A.G.
Do you play live?
We play live and we love it. however the NJ scene is mostly punk/ska/hardcore and we dont really blend well butn we've played at coffee houses, Hamilton Street Cafe, The Birch Hill, the Millburn High School, people's back yards, church benefit shows, currently we are working a gig at American University and there is even the possiblity of us going on tour this summer with a band called Green to Think, they're on MP3.com.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
i think that the interent and/pr MP3s change the music industry only for the better. they provide smaller, unsigned bands with a potential fan base and communication accesability. it allows for the smaller guuys to ge their foot in the door, and i think thats great.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
my, and our, dream is to a rock star. so, yes, i would.
Band History:
The band origonally started in the late winter of 2000. With Sam on rhythm guitar and vocals, Ben on lead guitar and vocals, Jeremy on drums and Chris Brauner on Bass (no longer int he band). our first show was at a firend's eighth grade end of the year party and we were Slate. By next the end of the next summer Chris was out of the band, Sam had move to bass and we added a new lead singer, Jon Sussman. We then changed our name to Faded Reign by the time winter rolled around Jon was no longer with us and it was just the three of us. We went though a few names everyday and finally by the time we added Adam on vocals in May we were To A Generation. Recently over this past summer a new memeber has been added; Marrian now does dual vocals with Adam.
Your influences?
I can't say we sound like any particular band or are attatched to any pareticular genre. You could call us a rock/punk/metal/jazz/funk/acoustic/18th century conglomoration of a band. each memeber really infuses their own style into it. some of our influences include A.F.I, DMB, Bootsy Collins, Metallica, Incubus, Deftones, Dispatch, Primus (Les Claypool), Maroon 5, Live, Jaco Pastorius, Everclear, Dredg, Aerosmith, Guster, Bach, Iron Maiden, the list goes on.
Favorite spot?
My favorite city that i've been to is San Fransisco but close sconds are Montreal and New York City. My faveorite place to chill and think is in Vermont
Equipment used:
We're a five piece with DW drums, Marshal 1/2 stack and an American Fender single coil, Ampeg BA-115 and an Ibanez bass
Anything else...?
We're hungry for shows and wwould love to tour with bands. We're looking for a label and any help we can get!!!
