Often referred to as a cross between No Doubt and Led Zeppelin, Simone continues to break convention with their own style. Influenced by the underground Detroit scene as well as the post-pop alternative sounds of Amsterdam, Simone remains in a class all their own.

'Strong riffs, hooks and melodies make Simone a highly-listenable band' (Miramar Management), but it is the energy of the live performances that Simone is best known. Sharing the stage with bands such as Driving The Fall, Anyone's Guess, Selby, One Fall Away, At Cliffs End, Pellets On Target, Stranded and many others, Simone exceeds expectations.

Known for their live performances -- "[Simone's] got the look, got the voice, got the songs" (Steve Gilmore, Rebel Riffs), Simone tours throughout the US and Europe. Their music has charted on GarageBand, StereoFame, OurStage, NoiseHead and Imeem, and their independent release "Temporary Heaven" was awarded the E.A.R. (Excellence In Audio Recording) award in 2007.

If there is one band that you follow this summer, it should be Simone.
Why this name?
It was just easier since it's my name. I played solo quite a bit before really pursuing the modern-rock vibe. The guys are all ok with it and the crowds seem to think it's pretty simple and unique. I wouldn't care if we were the 'Renegade Nuns On Wheels' lol - but they all insisted.
Do you play live?

All our our tour dates are synced across the net. Check myspace first :)
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It's all different. Instant gratification means that artists and performers have an even greater need to sell themselves. Not just at gigs, either. We have to consider all of the possible sales channels; not just smoky bars.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes
Band History:

Starting out as a Detroit-based underground musician, fronting the still-popular and heavily played industrial band, 'Teknotika', Simone cut her teeth in some of the best venues around the world. Originally signed to legendary record label 'Resistance', Simone along with producer Gary Martin toured the US as well as Denmark, Holland and the UK. Their single 'Universal Love' remains an underground hit from the states to Scotland while 'Take Me' continues to spin in the hearts and minds of New York's now defunct 'Sound Factory' fans and DJ's.

'Built To Last' will be Simone's fourth solo release in as many years and critics are already requesting advance copies. While a June 2009 street date is the official launch, three of Simone's tracks are now available for download on websites such as MySpace and Reverb Nation.

An award winning songwriter, Simone proves that she is capable of sustaining a positive track record.

Equipment used:
Anything else...?

Simone actively participates in the recycling of compact discs and encourages artists and listeners to join us with helping to make a difference. Our plan is to recycle at least one unused/unloved/damaged/etc. cd for every compact disc we distribute. Our fans can help by bringing one or two discs to each show for us to recycle. But, even if you're not in the area, consider these options below:

CD Recycling Center
Free CD Recycling
GreenDisk

Did you know?
To manufacture a pound of plastic (30 CDs per pound), it requires 300 cubic feet of natural gas, 2 cups of crude oil and 24 gallons of water
It is estimated that AOL alone has distributed more than 2 billion CDs. That is the natural gas equivalent of heating 200,000 homes for 1 year
It is estimated that it will take over 1 million years for a CD to completely decompose in a landfill
One well-known record company spends over $50 Million Dollars EACH YEAR to destroy unsold CD's.
