Mr. Nelson
Hello everybody, I don't know if I screwed up but I'm not a band. I play everything. A one man ....um...ah..band. Now that I have time on my hands I've been doing more recording at home. Keeps me out of trouble and the wifes hair. lol
Why this name?
I retired from my job. I started Substitute teaching at the local high school, Absegami High School to be exact. The kids have to call me Mr. Nelson so I figured why not. Mr. Nelson it is. It's as simple as that.
Do you play live?
I haven't played live in probably 25-30 years.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Well, besides the piracy going on, it's nice where you can buy the songs you want and not have to suffer for the entire album. Back in the day only 2 or 3 songs were any good the rest were fillers. There were exceptions and good examples of these bands are listed below under influences.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I really don't think thats a reality. I'm early in my 2nd half century...really early..bald and a bit hefty..but I do have a killer mustache.
Band History:
Not much of interest here.
Your influences?
I don't know who my stuff sounds like..But I grew up listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd, Mott the Hoople, Ian Hunter, Allman Brothers obviously the Beatles and the Stones. But my stuff doesn't sound like any of them.
Favorite spot?
My favorite spot is Brainard, MN on the lakes..
Anything else...?
Nope, not today.
