I am The Lethal Pro and I am a producer and beat creator. I also host a syndicated smooth jazz radio show as Steve "The JazzMan". I am at the helm of Lethal Productions Wreck Chords where I hone my craft by making beats on a daily.
Why this name?
This name denotes my capabilities on my weapons or tools of the trade (Beat machines). Lethal=Deadly!
Do you play live?
I am strictly for hire and one of my main motivation is selling my beats and honing my craft.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It defintely levels the playing field for all involved and gives an equal forum to indies as well as major labels.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Surely. As long as all parties involved will benefit.
Band History:
Over 10 years in radio and production of hip hop. Managed and promoted 15 groups.
Your influences?
Smooth jazz is surely my influence with artists like Bob James and Spyro Gyra. Dr. Dre gets mad props for doing what he does in a game that changes every day. Steely Dan and Earth, Wind & Fire are stand outs as influences just as Uncle L and Wu-Tang.
Favorite spot?
My home town-Baltimore.
Equipment used:
EMU-MP-7, MPC 3000XL, Yamaha RX7, Emax SE, Alesis QS-6.
