Whether writing innovative lyrics or just building in the studio, you can always find K-Mynez on the grind. A true hustler, Mynez is one of hip-hop’s most dedicated artists. Balancing family life, school, a full time job and a career as an artist, Mynez is the definition of a determined artist.
An Annapolis, MD resident by way of Newport News, VA, Mynez and his family came to Naptown’s surrounding areas when he was 16 years old. A product of a middle class household, Mynez was forced to do just a little more to reach success.
His inspiration for hip-hop came from listening to KRS-One, Rakim, Nas and Jay-Z in his early teenage years. Mynez was able to tap into the various key traits that made these artists famous and create a style of his own.
Humorous, creative and a great story-teller, Mynez is in a class of his own; delivering hip-hop that is not only great to listen to, but inspiring with a positive message of social change and unity.
When crafting songs, Mynez studies his society, his community, his family and writes lyrics that he hopes motivates the dudes on the corner to strive for a different line of work than pushing rocks and other illegal activities. He understands that the system is designed to trap minorities into a criminal lifestyle by limiting opportunities. Many of these lessons and views you will find in Mynez lyrics.
