Solo artist residing in Minneapolis Minnesota.
Why this name?
I've had a few over the past 7 years, Tahili, Lost-One, but I am now known as Hi-Gravitee, after the OE 800 High Gravity Malt Liquor that is often the fuel to the fire.
Do you play live?
No, but I'm definately getting there. I strive for perfection and when I reach that pinnacle of flow and lyricism, I will do shows. People come out to have a good time, and I'ma give em that.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
So much. Someone like me or someone with zero connections at all can create a buzz throwin' material on the net. You could be anyone, anywhere with a vision, some beats, and a mic and get your name out there these days.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If I'm gonna get paid more than I do at my dead end job, and I'm loving what I'm doing, why wouldn't I? If I can give my little girl a better life, for sure.
Your influences?
Shit around me, life experiences, being a father, dealing with messed up relationships, anger, love, all emotions. Discussions with my real homeboys.
Artists that influence me:
2Pac, Nas, BIG, Mobb Deep, Kurupt, Brotha Lynch Hung, Eminem, Tech N9ne, Method Man, Ice Cube, South Central Cartel, MC Eiht, DJ Quik, the list goes on...
Favorite spot?
South Side Minneapolis
Equipment used:
A souped up Compaq Presario, Blue Snowball Microphone, Sonar 7 Producer Edition, Oxygen 8 V2 MIDI Controller and FL Studio 8 because i'm starting to dabble in making beats.
