Well, i dunno about a `band` name, im just plain ol` Mick Gaitens!
Altho`, i figure my new band could use the name `The Grubber Gaitens Band`....a name my mate came up with...and, i kinda like!...lol. Trips off the tongue dont u think, for a little acoustic blues outfit. lol.

Im Mick,45yrs old, and i have been playing for many years in various bands. Did a lot of the working mens club scene tho...as it paid more. but im jealous of the ones who got into the original scene, or blues/rock etc.

However, ive long since left the boring stuff behind me, and now i play for ME!. Write a lot nowdays too, which is exciting. Hope u enjoy my stuff...and feel free to leave any feedback...good, bad, or indifferent. It will all strengthen my ability in the long run i hope.
Why this name?
Well, i thought that `Mick Gaitens` would suit me as a band name.....its my name after all!
Do you play live?
I play all over Central Scotland. It has some great little pubs and venues, and some really scary ones too.
Lots of special times, especially having a virtuoso fiddle player in on the act for a few years....ppl were on the tables dancin to us...wow!.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think it allows the `unsigned` and small ppl to take control, and produce something entirely on their own, at little cost, and allows any revenue created to come straight into the pocket of the artists...this has to be good!.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Doh!.......yeahhh...im skint!........wouldnt you!
Your influences?
I love the southern rock scene, hence: the band/the subdudes/little feat/Dr John/Ry Cooder/....also....i love hendrix, knopfler, but NOT so much of crapton....soz!..clapton!
My gtr hero tho, is the unbelievable Tommy Emmanuel....who can touch him?
Favorite spot?
Scotland.....Arisaig beaches...Glencoe
Equipment used:
Takamine TAN46C.....Sonar7.....`Monkey drums` wav files....Yamaha keys...
