I'm a solo artist who enjoys recording my original instrumental tunes, which are in the early demo stages when they first appear here. Please feel free to post a comment/critique, plus I'll consider collaboration if anyone has some ideas to develop these tunes a little more.
Why this name?
n/a (solo artist)
Do you play live?
No but would possibly consider playing live with a band.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It basically gives the music-loving, home recording musician worldwide exposure to a whole lot of ears who would have never heard their music otherwise. With the internet in 2009, to quote Sly Stone from 40 years ago, "Everybody Is A Star"!
Your influences?
Classic rock from the 70's, The Beatles, Paul McCartney, Chet Atkins & fingerstyle guitar-playin', The Ventures & surf music in general, & classic movie soundtracks (Ennio Morricone, Bernard Herrmann)! Strong melodies and hooky choruses with great harmonies have always been what keeps me interested in this thing called music. Another influence is the quick bits of song ideas that run through my mind that either get forgotten quickly or never quite come out sounding the way I imagined them if they do get written.
Favorite spot?
Raleigh, NC, Myrtle Beach, SC, Charleston, SC
Equipment used:
Squier Vintage Modified Tele Custom II, Applause acoustic/electric guitar, Squier Vintage Modified 70's Jazz Bass, Behringer BX108 Bass Amp, Digitech RP50 effects, Zoom MRT-3 drum machine, Behringer XENYX 802 mixer, recorder: Fostex MR-8
Anything else...?
My goal is to create that one song that catches your ear, and stands out from the vast ocean of unsigned home-recording music creators, that one song that invites you to play it again & again. But then I guess that would be everyone's goal and I'm really nowhere near that but it's the goal that keeps me motivated. Atta boy, Luther!
