I grew up in the south, Orlando, Florida, during the times of heavy racism and discrimination. At the early age of 7 years old, I watched my 5 year old brother drown in our neighborhood playground. My nine year old brother nearly drowned too while trying to save my younger brother. However, there was no pool in our playground. I watched as my brothers tried to climb out of a slippery, muddy hole full of water that had been left in our playground. To this day I still believe the hole was left intentionally. This event began the blues in my life and I have been a frustrated blues singer every since.

After two careers and retirement, I now have the time and desire to let the blues that has been inside of me; sang in my bathroom, and in privacy out to the public in my new CD "A World of Blues". This is the birth of Ruben Lee Sims as a blues singer.
