Billy Brow
I'm a self taught player. I've played a little bass, mostly guitar and 12 string, and played in Ft Worth and Houston at a well known club called The Cellar in 1966..I Left the Houston Cellar in 1968 with a blues band called Childhoods End with the late T.W.Henderson and the late but far to early, Daryl "Hatchet' Welch and went to LA. for about a year....Quite an experience back then..Well I ended up back in Boston for about another year and started writing.. I've written a few songs over the years and was fortunate enough to record them with my best friend, Mike McClain, and he still lets me..Mike is an extroidenary musician that I've known since high school.A great producer and engineer who is well known, respected and loved by many..We are all players from the Ft. Worth, Dallas, and a few from Phoenix AZ. area. And on Headwinds they are.. Bass,David Stanley. electric guitar,Jerry Matheny.Drums,Bobby Hibbits.Mike McClain on Pianos and Synths. I do all the vocals and 12 string guitar..My Sister Gail, Mike, and myself on backup vocals... On Bittersuite..Bass, Piano,Flute, Synths-Mike McClain. From Phoenix... Elec. Guitar-Billy Williams. Drums Jeff Borey and Lead Guitar on Backseat..also on drums,Bobby Hibbits. Myself and Mike, backup vocals.I played 12 String... Everlasting Lovers on Call and YHVH-is just Mike and I.Oh yeah..I did play the drums in a couple of bands.Way to much fun even if I barely knew what I was doing.. Now, I've just finished recording a new song called "TIME"for my Everlasting Lovers cd with the amazing Tommy Nash on guitar. I hope you'll like it. If you do, tell someone else. It would be greatfuly appreciated..
Do you play live?
I don't play out any more. I haven't in alot of years.....I Write and record as much as I can it's all I have time for seems like.. I really loved playing live though. I've never met a musician that didn't..
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Best thing thats happened to it ever..Well, maybe since stereo headphones
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If they could peel me off the floor.
Your influences?
I write more pop than anything else, and I've been influenced by the Eagles,Nitty Gritty ,Chris Cross,Poco,Beatles, especially the Beatles. You got to admit, music just got better and better after that.I'm very much into melody..I do stand in complete awe at the muscians that I played around in Ft.Worth and Houston They were and are still the best, and I was influenced in different ways by all of them.
Favorite spot?
