I play keys in a rock band (www.strangers.org.uk). I also write music of my own which I am in the process of recording and performing when I can find time in between gigs/working as a teacher/being a dad.
Why this name?
I was given the name by an old drummer from Strangers because my name is Keith and I play keys ;-)...simple really!
Do you play live?
Mostly live with my band but I have done sessions for the far side acoustic club in Leicester.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It makes it easier to share music and to discover talent that would otherwise go unnoticed.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I just like sharing music...my main priority is my family and giving my two boys a good start in life.
Band History:
The recordings you hear are a result of collaboration with my friend of over 30 years Andy Headley, who can be heard playing electric guitar on some of the tracks. I have played in bands with him before when I used to be a bass player in a previous life. There are also guest musicians on some tracks and others have offered advice and feedback which I always appreciate :)
Your influences?
Neil Young, PJ Harvey, John Ireland, Keith Jarrett, Led Zeppelin, Stravinsky, The Beatles, David Bowie, the list goes on and changes every day......
Favorite spot?
West coast of Scotland. Mull/Oban way.
Equipment used:
I use a korg sp200 stage piano with my band and an m1 (20 years old and still going strong). My acoustic is a takamine and I have a broadwood piano at home which was apparently the first type of piano that Beethoven used.
Anything else...?
I regularly play live online on paltalk, usually in 'instrumental heaven'. I do this cos I don't get out enough lol.
