i think downloading is a good introduction for cd's, for a fan to decide if he/she should by a cd or not, sophisticated music has sophisticated fans, so in sophisticated music the "downloading era" won't make any difference, rather even progress it. It has an other effect for bands like nickelback or korn who obviously can expect their sales to diminish.
