I would love to play live, if only I could play for shit. I prefer to setup sound reinforcement and mix FOH, and I have a newfound adoration for monitor mixing (something about seeing an artist from right offstage, and having your own mix to hear it). Composing new music is fun, but not really a career goal.

It's like a cassette tape that takes up no space, and is cheaper. So it's just like it was before, except more. Live sound will become, and is becoming, more important than previously. If you aren't out there playing live, no one cares, because everyone can record and create from the frickin' toilet seat now. But, I say "Hola, DVD-A and SACD. May the best man win." My bet ($5) is on DVD-A, because it says "DVD". Now if only I could afford a pair of Genelecs in a custom built room, then I could hear the breath intake in my favorite rappers voice, or did they edit that out?

A better question is: would a major label sign a contract with me? There is something about counting chickens before they hatch. The green stuff changes mindsets effectively.
