JAM BAILEY

In an attempt to assist current artists in bringing hip hop back to its prime, I create this page.
Why this name?
Jam was given to me by my peers, because I make good music, played corner back, and was 5'9" tall and could dunk anything, Jam became my name seeing that it fit all the things I do good in my life...
Do you play live?
I do showcases from time to time in the 9th Ward of New Orleans Louisiana, but nothing too large at the moment, but would love the opportunity to pump out soul lifting lyrics infront of sell-out Super Dome crowds...
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think that it does change the music industry, maybe not business wise because these execs are still only going to hear you only if they want to, but I changes it in a sense that it gives small timers like me, without the money to move major mixtape weight across the states, the opportunity to be heard and get commented on whether I was good or not, and I can now let that stand as my testimony from the streets...
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Of course, no one can deny the powers that be, we can only do so much as artists, but when you have a thriving corporation behind you, you can literally move mountains and begin to make some real bucks...
Your influences?
Tupac has to be my biggest influence, I know that sounds cliche, but, at a time when I was younger and alone and had no one to depend on and no where to look but to crime, Tupac made me feel like I wasn't alone in my struggle to survive, he made me realize that there was nothing wrong with hustling if that was all one had, and he definitely put a realer spin on what the thug life meant than the definition we have and live by today. To Tupac, by way of my life and my music, I am eternally greatful.
