J.Malone
NEWS
Right now J. Malone is hard at work. I'm always on the laptop at least an hour a day making music, so anything heard on my pages is definitely not the newest Malone material, but if you're looking for a sound I might be able to deliver. You never know 'til you try. Also, give me a shout with an iLike. Just click the button.

J.Malones is more of a belief than an actual place. The idea behind the whole project is to just make music for pure enjoyment. Of course money is appreciated and welcomed, but ultimately the idea is to make whatever music I feel like, and forget trying to make certain styles and genres in order to be popular.
Why this name?
The name goes back to a band that I really wish got started about ten years ago. The band never truly was born, but the name was forever remembered. I just dusted it off and shined it up a little bit.
Do you play live?
Nothing live right now. I have a little electronic catalog, but it's not ready for a live showing, in my opinion.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think it completely obliterated the concept album. The music industry has become a single-driven monster, leaving the album far behind. I blame the internet for that, but it does SOME good.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Why wouldn't I? Ultimately I would just like to find a studio in my area where I could work with some talented up and coming talent. At this point I would rather have some major label feedback as opposed to a contract.
Band History:
I'm just a guy with a love for music who's been doing this for about one year.
Your influences?
I love all kinds of music. My "from the beginning to the end" band is Radiohead, but through the years I've listened to a lot of Incubus, Outkast, 2Pac, Biggie, the Crystal Method, the Chemical Brothers, and a lot more. I could go on and on, but I'm really geared towards the music that goes a little against the grain.
Equipment used:
I have a Hewlett-Packard laptop with FL Studio and some budget-friendly add-ons. I don't even have a keyboard yet, but that's an inevitable purchase.
Anything else...?
I also have a MySpace page that I'm trying to get a little buzz on. I welcome anyone who is doing the same thing I am, or maybe you've made it a little further and just want to give some constructive criticisms. I would love to bounce ideas off of just about anyone. So check it out and help the friend count......
