A simple songwriter who likes to be loud. I cut out the middle-man by recording my own stuff. I'm guitar oriented though I play many instruments. I'm a Bass player by trade. I would like to find a few people to play live in the Long Beach area. I'm open to most genre's. I like the Reggae and Ska (Sublime type) crowd.
Why this name?
I'm 5'2" and originally from Detroit. As Ted Nugent used to say (loudly), I'm a Detroit Dog.
Do you play live?
Hmmm... the last time I played live was in a little bar in Detroit called the Telstar Lounge across from where a GM plant used to be near Mt. Elliott.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet makes exposure easier. One can market him, or herself much more easily.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Maybe... who knows. I'd rather help other people get signed. I just want to sell some of my songs and one day, accept a Grammy with my wife right next to me.
Band History:
No band, just little old me.
Your influences?
(Sucking in big air) All guitar rock oriented bands from the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's. I like what I hear coming out of the Indie music radio stations. I don't like cookie cutter music like Linkin Park. I'd like to see art put back into music instead of marketing INSIDE the song by sounding like a previous hit (I call it 'riding the wave'). Johnny Cash, Alice Cooper, Bruce, Montrose, Hagar, Halen, Zeppelin, Reznor, Prince, John Mellincamp(who??) so on and so forth... these guys know what's good, there's too many to list.
Favorite spot?
Long Beach, L.A., Atlanta, Savahnna, Orlando, Fountain Valley, Seal Beach, Panama City Beach, Destin, the Persian Gulf (that's right) Oman side near the Hotel and anywhere near the Gulf of Mexico.
Equipment used:
Using Pro Tools 9 now on a Macbook Pro. I use a lot of software from Avid, Native Instruments and I.K. Multimedia. I primarily use a Gibson Studio, Les Paul with Seymore Duncan Humbuckers and my vintage 450B Kramer Bass.
Anything else...?
I hope someone likes my music and makes someone smile or rock out!!
