BIOGRAPHY
Clockwise [klokwaiz], a. In the direction that the hands of the clock rotate; from top to bottom towards the right when seen from front.
The name Clockwise was chosen by a direct association to the time that we are subjected in our life.
Music, as life, is made of cycles. So, velocity, feeling, sense, harmony, melody, and other factors that are important are the reason related to the constant fight in defence of this art, for those who love it!
The Band Clockwise was formed in 1996 by two of the actual members, RuCa and ZeMac. The initial formation had 4 members, Rui Moura (RuCa), (Guitars), Jose Machado (ZeMac) (Lead vocals and Bass), Helder Silva (Dede) (Drums) and Carlos Lopes (Keyboards). In that year the band worked in the first album that was recorded in 1997. The album was released in 1998 with the title - Time is waiting. 10 songs fill that album in a Melodic rock / AOR style, and the theme of the work is about the conflict between dream and reality, based on the parallelism MAN-TIME.
At 7 May 1998 with other member formation, Rui Moura (RuCa), (Guitars), Jose Machado (ZeMac) (Lead vocals), Carlos Lopes (Keyboards), Paulinho (Bass) and Joao Moura (Drums), the band made a show presenting the album in the HARDCLUB, at Gaia, Portugal. During that year and next the band made shows, as well promotion in TV programs, radio and magazines.
Between 2000 and 2004, by professional and personal reasons, the band was forced to stop. But, in 2002 the album Time is waiting reappear in the international market. Germany was the main responsible for that, being TARGET RECORDS the company that promoted the CD. The reviews were excellent from lots of sites.
Meanwhile RuCA is making new songs for the second album.
