This is not a 'band' but it's a collection of old songs and instrumentals that I made before I recorded via 'digital' means. These old recordings were made on my trusty 4 track machine, (Fostex X-16). It has earned it's retirement through years of use!. It was used almost constantly for several years. It only needed the odd bit of surgery, that I managed to perform with a soldering iron, electricians insulating tape, and 'super-glue'.
These 'Analog' recordings have been treated to reduce tape hiss as much as possible.
Some songs are by Silent Network (a three-piece band I was in, mid 1990's) Martin Warhust - keyboards, bass. Jackie Lister-vocals and myself- guitars. The other things are my own bits and peices of music
This is what goes on behind the closed doors of suburbia. Hope you enjoy the rough ideas in transit . . . some forever condemmed to obscurity, others re-surfacing to blink in the bright light of the 21st. century.
Why this name?
well it's an Archive. Archive Avenue sounds pretty neat title for it . . .
Do you play live?
Not any longer
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
How else would this get heard otherwise ?
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
get serious !
Your influences?
All great pop and rock and stations in between.
Equipment used:
This was mainly recorded through a Korg A5 pedal board and some later tunes via Korg AX100G pedal board. Yamaha SA1000 and Yamaha MSG Deluxe guitars. Zoom RT 123 drum machine. Some cheap old Fostex microphone. An old Yamaha keyboard PSR 75 ?
Anything else...?
I've now thrown all my old cassette tapes away, but if I find any hiding in a dark corner of the attic, (and they are worth sharing), I'll add those as well. . . so be warned . . .lol
