After long hours of headache we finally decided that "The Qoute" would be the name.

Not yet, we are still making our way to that level. For now, our main goal is to create and record some ground breaking hit tunes.

Well, that is always an option!

The Quote formally started on a late evening the 9th of April, in year 2008. All three members had been friends for a long time, but suddenly their line of mutual interest took a rapid turn. The three daring adolescents were born and raised in a small country in the middle of the Atlantic ocean called Iceland.


Shine was The Qoute's first song to be played on public television. It was composed by the bands programer, Ragnar Þór Valgeirsson, for a reality show which was about him. To see the show, please visit the shows website. Ragnar has studied Mixing and Mastering at Berklee Online Music School located in Boston Massachusetts.


Ómar Sigurðsson, often called Ómar Norðfjöð, is a vocalist studying at The Reykjavik academy of singing and vocal arts. He also plays a guitar, bass, banjo and keyboards.


Helgi Reyr Guðmundsson, with a tint of danish origin, known as Helgi Bernstroff Hansen is the band's drummer and percussionist. His musical experience spans a wide range, from orchestral percussion to sizzling latin beats to bombarding hard rock and hard-core. He also enjoys the excitement of a nice melon.
