play lo-fi play hi-fi  I'm In Need (Rough Cut)
Why this name?
Jonathan Michael is the first and middle name I was born with. I distinguish it from my social name, Jon Davis, because it gives character to what it is I'm trying to do, which is to produce and/or sing songs in the context of daily life, about my faith and my relationship with God, and retain my roots.
Do you play live?
I have led worship in church on a number of occasions, as well as sung for entertainment venues. Some of these times were as a teenager; other times were as an adult in my mid-20's. At the time of creating this profile on ClickSound.com, it has been a few years since I did live performances, but I miss it, and I want to get back into it.
Your influences?
Michael W. Smith, Billy Crockett, Caedmon's Call, Watermark, Jeremy Camp, Chris Tomlin, et al.
Equipment used:
I have a couple guitars and a home MIDI studio (FL Studio, Korg KONTROL49, Casio 88-key MIDI controller, etc) with a Soundcraft mini-mixer, a couple condenser mics, and a pair of Beihrenger monitors.

My track "I'm In Need" (the rough cut) didn't get the treatment of my MIDI studio, it was just thrown together in Audacity with 2 drum patterns in FL Studio and a cheap computer mic that, if I recall correctly, had been bundled with a sound card I'd bought for my computer.

Some of my other studio work is at http://www.soundclick.com/2600hz where more potential can be heard and more details of my equipment and software can be seen. I have yet to harness the potential of this gear for the purpose of my singer/songwriter role as Jonathan Michael, something I want to change over the next few months.
