Tomas Doherty aka (Atonal Tonic) was born in 1977 in Madrid, Spain. At age 17, I started to learn songs and record them on tape with a cheap microphone and began playing in local bands Madrid. We started out as group of friends playing just for fun, getting together and having a "jamdown" without a clue what was going to happen; its pure magic when it works!!!
I was struck by the whole Free Jazz music and theory, because it is pure freedom in "state-of-the-heart" creativity, breaking moulds and unleashing the inner side of yourself; as no one wanted to record unless they memorized it first, I had the idea to play all the instruments myself, . I tried to apply everything to music... from Maths to Aristotle...and Atonal Tonic was born!!!
