I chose my name because my real name is Cassandra, and I was going to be called Melody, so hence Cassie Melody.

I love playing live and I am currently working on new material to perform in local venues.

I think the internet/mp3 has changed the music industry in some way as I believe many more artists are becoming recognized. There is a lot of talent which deserves to be heard. However at the end of the day it is down to personal taste and opinion.

I began at an early age. At 7 I attended ballet classes and new I wanted to be on stage! At school I was involved with Risin Stars. I joined the Stafforshire Youth choir as a first soprano. I went to Brighton university to study Music with visual practice, and joined many musical and dramatic societies, also involved with many degree shows. Writing music, performing, video, photography and installation were my main interests while at uni. I also studied contemporary dance for 2 years. Soon after I came home and did another course in fashion. Since finishing I have been working with 'Lookout' Theatre company and working on writing an album.

My musical influences are Tori Amos, Kate Bush, Karen Carpenter, Gwen Stefani, Beatles, Kinks, Emiliana Torrini, Evanescence, Bjork, System of a Down, Lamb, Norah Jones, Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, The Cure, NIN, Marilyn Manson, PJ Harvey, Sarah Mclaclan, Delirium, Enya, Sinead O'Conner, Cocteau Twins, All About Eve, Janis Joplin, John Lennon, Bob Dylan, Led Zepplin, HIM, Carole King and loads more!!! I also love classical, banjo and jazz music.
