Crackle Static
the ReMarks are a three piece indie rock band from Southern California. They draw inspiration from the pioneering modern rock acts of the early eighties such as R.E.M., The Cure, & U2 fashioning a unique and enduring sound all their own. The band members, Dave (main guitar), Drew (guitar,vox),& Brian B.(bass)have been bringing their energetic & edgy sound to live audiences since the summer of 2000. the ReMarks have an ongoing track record of successful shows ranging from local coffeeshops to high profile venues such as The Coach House in San Juan Capistrano and The Galaxy Theatre in Anaheim. A high octane performance and an ever growing fan club, ensure the ReMarks future is very bright.
Why this name?
I don't know how we chose our name exactly. If I remember right one of us was filling out a form somewhere and inspiration struck at the line for "remarks"
Do you play live?
Yes, we play live all over L.A., Orange, and San Bernardino counties in Southern California. Every show is a blast. But I think possibly the Coach House is the best venue for bands.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Its great. It allows unknown goofs like us to get our music heard all over the world without really a whole lot of knowledge or money.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Possibly they're are still things a major label can do for bands that they just can't do on a consistent basis independently. However it is a give & take situation. A band has more say over their careers without a major label.
Your influences?
The Cure, The Church, The Smiths, Echo & the Bunnymen, R.E.M., The Who, The Beatles, The Clash, Buzzcocks, Oingo Boingo, The Police.
Favorite spot?
Nothing beats L.A.
