BizSnyder is regularly appearing with The M.O.O.D. at Ray's ESG. See us there on selected Sundays and weekend nights now through October.
Solo recordings by Biz Snyder.
Why this name?
It utilizes a nickname I've had since 8th grade.
Do you play live?
Playing live with The MOOD and some acoustical projects. I've only been playing "in public" since The MOOD formed last summer.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It's drastically changed the access to all types of music. While there are certainly issues as it comes to musicians being compensated for their work, it has made it so much easier to listen, compose, and share music.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If the conditions were right - yes.
Band History:
I've been "playing at" guitar since I was 12 - about the time my cousin stuck the nickname of "Biz" on me. Some of you may remember 33 and 1/3 rpm vinyl records. I learned to play guitar by putting on my favorite albums and playing them over and over (and over). I've spent a number of very enjoyable years doing other things, including watching my kids grow up, being a "baseball dad", changing careers, etc. Now that my kids are in college, I've been lucky enough to rekindle my passion for music. Actually, the passion was always there, but I did more listening than playing.
I've been privileged to join some other good friends in a new cover band (The MOOD www.myspace.com/themoodrocks).We're in the process of recording more demos, so check The MOOD site periodically. I work as a CPA by day to support my "guitar habit."
This site is dedicated to solo material that I've composed and recorded on my PC at home. While it certainly has its rough patches, I've really enjoyed "making" music. I have hopes of integrating some of this material with The M.O.O.D.(Masters Of Our Domain), as original band material. So stay tuned! Be on the lookout for The M.O.O.D.. We are starting to book gigs. If you are interested in booking us, send us an email at themood@live.com. I also want to thank my family )Trescha, Adam, and Katie for allowing this indulgence into music. Thanks for listening.
Your influences?
Classic rock from late 60s/early 70s(Led Zeppelin #1) and progressive acts like Rush and Pink Floyd. One of my new favorites is Porcupine Tree (new to me anyway). I'm also listening to a lot of alt-country these days, primarily Cross Canadian Ragweed and Drive-By Truckers.
Favorite spot?
If I could be anywhere I'd be sipping a Corona on a Carribean beach.
