Welcome to ElektroMotion. Soiled in ambient, with a spice of d'nb, living up to brighter suns like Vladislav Delay, Trentemøller and Röyksopp.

Creations are intended as little universes to dwell in. If anything brilliant comes out of your mind while listening to ElektroMotion, my job is done. ;)

If you like any kind of music that's out of the ordinary, stay tuned and let me know what you think!

ElektroMotion
Whoever said electronic music lacks soul should be punished for blasphemy.
Why this name?
It's a simple contraction of two words which sum it al up:
Elektro en Emotion.
Do you play live?
Not at the moment..Not unwilling though... Just don't know if its the right kind of music to play live... maybe at a Zen-concours. LOL
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
First and foremost: connection between brighter souls in music. Never before has it been so easy to get in contact with cool musicians and like minded spirits.
Second: most of the time it's free publicity for a lot of bigger groups. And it creates virtual word of mouth publicity for smaller groups. Like me (hehe)
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
After having my contract checked by the most expensive lawyer in town...Sure.
Band History:
Well, in the late nineties I started off as a guitarist in black metal. I kinda lost the passion to always be 'evil' in an artificial sense around 2002. Darkness never lost me out of its sight, though. It's manifestation changed. As do people.
I started to play around with Fl, initially just to create backgrounds and practice-songs for guitar.
Then the virus of electric creationism got to me. I saw the freedom in these programs that I just didn't have playing guitar. Being able to create little universes in which I am (sort of) master and puppeteer.
I switched to Reason, mainly because it just works a lot faster. Over the years I sort of developed a recognizable style in there and it was a lot of fun.
Then, looking somewhat more critical at my creations and realizing I didn't actually knew what I was doing or how it all came together, I started reading a lot about production techniques and the like. I switched back to Fl again for use of VST's.
I then knew: this is it. I was able to create different kinds of songs. Different kinds of spheres and moods. They all did carry the flag ElektroMotion, for my own convenience. And they will so, in the future.

Your influences?
I will give a list, purely based on Freud:

- Nina Hagen (first musical memory)
-The Shadows
-Two Unlimited
-All Slagerhits Vol. 3
-Marco Borsato (especially his first two records)
-The Four Seasons, Vivaldi
-Conny van Breukhoven's greatest hits (mini-LP, 2 songs)

O.k, what are my real influences? Theeeese:
-Vladislav Delay
-Röyksopp
-LTJ Bukem
-Squarepusher
-Opeth
-Metallica
-Emperor
-Dimmu Borgir

In reality I don't think it's possible to extract your influences. The ones you always name are exactly the one's you wish to divert from. Unless you try to lift along on with their successes. Which.. kinda sucks.
Favorite spot?
That one place where my mind gets a spark. Could be anywhere, anytime. The forest might be most constant in creating that spark.
Equipment used:
Guitar and p.c. Does it really matter? It's what comes out, that counts.
Anything else...?
Feel free to comment on the songs.

A big thnx goes to DEC who has been an inspiration and a source of reflection on my creative process. You can find him at myspace. If you're into wild elektronic, do visit!
