Alert the Press was formed in the fall of 2007 by vocalist/guitarist Mike Adkins and guitarist Matt Grant. During the early weeks of the band, Mike and Matt played for hours on end at Matt's apartment. Equipped with only an acoustic guitar of Mike's and Matt's electric guitar and small amp, they wanted to write songs that were both catchy and drew on their many influences. Their sound is comparable to bands like Jimmy Eat World, Brand New, and the Ataris with guitar harmonies and solos adding a different dynamic to their sound. After writing their first few songs they added drummer Jason Byrum and bassist Nathan Grant to complete the current line-up. Nathan has been replaced by Adam Bostick on bass, but we still love Nathan...in a very special way.

We've finished recording our demo (if you couldn't tell by the songs we have up) and we're looking to book shows for the spring and summer, so let us know about any!
