Welcome we are Protect the witness. We are a hard rocking band out of New England. Our sound is across the board,and there is always a message in our songs shining through.Thanks to everyone who has supported us past and present. P.T.W.
Why this name?
Reading about a murdered witness.
Do you play live?
We are new as a group but we have played several shows,the last few were awesome,we had the whole bar up front and screaming Yaaa!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It brings music to a whole new audience. I like it. It lets the little man get his music out there.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, it opens your music to a whole new audience.
Band History:
It all started in 1992 in Miami Fla.with a band called Who Cares,arter a split a few years later I formed Hemlok. After playing anywhere and everywhere, five years went by and I had gone as far as I could go with the group. I soon recruited our old drummer Zac Ethier,an awesome drummer with no where to go but up! He than brought his cousin Isia Ethier to play bass. Isia just left a group called Shades of skin, he has a great lead bass style. Just what we were looking for. A friend in the circle,DJ, came in to audition for lead guitarist. He ripped it up and strong material emerged. Now we are whole and Protect the Witness was born. The name came from the countless peaple who are in fear for their lives because of something they know or saw,from the projects to the White House!
Your influences?
Life in general,most of the time its the dark side of life. Our sound is a mix of old school metal and a touch of dark blues. Band member influences are across the board from old Metallica to 311 -the doors Ozzy(mostly sabbath and Rhandy Rhodes stuff) All shall Parish-STP-Johnny Cash-Pink Floyd-GnR
