Gentle Rain has been performing bluegrass since 1995. The combined experience of the band members exceeds 100 years of performing experience. Members of the band have performed from the local church to the Grand Ole Opry.
Our musical style will expose the audience to bluegrass that ranges from the nostalgic to contemporary, from gospel to newgrass.

Based in Greenwood SC we will perform at your festival, church, party, wedding reception, political event, restaurant or other event.

In every life some rain must fall, we pray that all of your rain is gentle rain!
Why this name?
Gentle Rain has been performing bluegrass since 1995. The combined experience of the band members exceeds 100 years of performing experience. Members of the band have performed from the local church to the Grand Ole Opry.
The band first formed in late 1995 when band member Tommy Tucker moved to Greenwood SC. Having played with numerous groups and pickers in the upstate he was looking for new musicians in the area to pick with. Having met the remaining members of Gentle Rain at the Ware Shoals SC Catfish Feastival, they began to practice together soon after. The first few times they tried to practice it always seemed to be a raining. When Tucker lamented that it seemed to always rain when the band got together his son Harper 10 at the time commented "yes dad but it is always gentle rain" and thus the name for the band was born.

The rest is history and the band has been performing together to many local and regional audiences since.
Do you play live?
Yes, we love to play live and play anywhere we are able. We always love to play for a crowd that is there to listen to the band as it energizes us when the crowd is getting into it.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It is great and I pray the major labels will soon get fully on board with and support the fact that the industry has evolved because of it.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I am sure we would if one were offered.
