I am DJ Dzhit. I also do rap and recording and all that stuff. But for right now I'm putting up my instrumental page and see how the crowd digs my beats. I know I dig them, btu I wanna see who thinks I got the fire and maybe somebody might notice and hopefully do some bidness.
Why this name?
Wel the name Dzhit came from little kids who couldn't pronounce my name correctly sounding like D-shit and I later on chose that as a name, but to make me more original (and get away with it) I changed it to Dzhit.
Do you play live?
Not at the moment tho, but I do plan on it someday.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Its hard to explain this as I donot wish to take the time to explain the positives and the negatives.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Of course....Maybe, well it all depends who we dealing with?
Band History:
I started making beats since I was 12 or 13-ish when my dad first showed me Fruity Loops 3. Back then, I was more childish and didn't even know what a loop was. But after 3 or 4 years experimenting and experimenting and all that jazz, I finally getting sounds I want and sound great to the ears or ateast I liek to think. I'm still everchanging my style though till I reach perfection and beyond or atleast I get to the levels of 9th Wonder or somthing, ya know what I am sayin?
Your influences?
My musical influences are from all types of music. Growing up listening to alot of different styles including having a father who been in many rock bands (Vsthesuct or simply known as Douglas Garnett to some of you old K-zoo heads) and experimental ghettoteck and industrial music. So basically I am mostly opened minded when it comes to music but the rap influences are the oldschool styles of Gangstarr, A Tribe Called Quest, Pete rock and CL Smooth, Nas, Brand Nubian, Tupac, Common, and alot of them cats.
I guess I have more of an old school style to my beats.

Favorite spot?
Favorite city would be my own city....Kalamazoo, always. Another fave tho is Chicago. also nothing like Chi-town atmosphere.
Equipment used:
I use Fruity Loops 8 XXL Producer's Edition, Adobe Audition 3.0, Akai MPK 49 Keyboard (you know what it is fellas), Sony Studio Headphones, C01 Studio Condensor Mic, and a MoblilePre USB. For the most part, I'm all hooked!
Anything else...?
Well, hopefully one day I get to meet the cats who have influenced me. Especially learn some tricks from Pete Rock. And hopefully, I jsut want my work to be heard and respected as a hiphop legend that brings a new twist in the game, even though that maybe years to come. I still strive. Still strive...
