Standing in the Middle September-October Engagements:
-- In September we'll be taking a break from live engagements to prepare for our largest event yet...
-- October 18th at Fox and Firkin in Corvallis, Oregon. There is a $3 cover charge for non-students and a $2 cover charge for students. This is going to be a very great opportunity for us if we can bring a lot of people. So come down, bring a friend, eat, drink and scream as loud as you can "Hello!".

Standing in the Middle September-October News:
-- Recently Jon & Mike Davis reengineered the “Five” CD for a crisper and more even sound quality. If you’d like to receive an upgraded CD please inquire with Candice Murdock at our next performance. CDs will be $2 if you join the mailing list and $3 if you don't.
-- The August 16th Beanery engagement in Corvallis, Oregon went very well. Those attending seemed to truly enjoy themselves. We tried to use the engagement as a stepping stone to get into the Fox and Firkin and it worked. The booking manager (BM) from Fox and Firkin heard that we held the audience through the entire show. The positive feedback from the managers at the Beanery assisted in providing enough evidence to the BM from Fox and Firkin that we should be booked. The BM cancelled the band that was scheduled to play and placed us in their slot on October 18th. Very exciting!
-- We're currently in the process of working with some fraternities and sororities in Corvallis and Eugene to play some parties. Some U of O and OSU Alumni associations might also work with us to get into some tailgate parties. We're also in communication with a couple of engagements in Eugene, Oregon to schedule upcoming shows in November and December.

Music is created from some form of anxiety: the desire for love (lust), the comfort of a romantic relationship, the pain of losing a romance, the pain of losing a friend to death, and many others. Standing in the Middle is a project that is dedicated to performing music that exposes multiple levels of relationships, hardships, terrors and beauty. Our anxiety is to create and display snapshots of humanity, to offer possible hints of the eternal, to provoke thought and contemplation, or sometimes just to have a little playful fun with the musical possibilities. With this as our goal we believe that we can always create music that is complete in itself: the music stays tuned to the content, the content stays tuned to the music, and we will stay in-tune to both.

Why this name?
We wanted a name that said what we were about. We are unwilling to commit to any specific style of music or content type. "Standing in the Middle" just fit.
