The Dreamers

This band is what I want to hear in music. I want music that is radio-friendly, yet distinct to my taste. We've created pop-punk-rock music that, at its core, stems from a love of the Ramones and classic pop/rock acts like the Beach Boys or the Beatles, but hopefully goes even further than that.
Why this name?
I wish there was a story, but we just like the way it sounds. It used to be Scotty and the Dreamers and I liked that better cause it sounded like a fifties band name, but it got nixed cause people are mean.
Do you play live?
Mostly in the FL Gulf Coast area. It's my favorite thing to do. It's pretty special anytime for different reasons.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It allows bands like us to get way more exposure than usual.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Heck yeah! I'm not selfish, but I do enjoy money as does everyone else.
Band History:
The Dreamers started in June of 2000. It was originally me on guitar, Scott on bass and vocals, and Justin B on drums, and we had come together out of friendship and a desire to create music that we liked. We all had our tastes, but we could agree that the music we created was somewhere in between that... and we all liked it. Justin D eventually took over on drums (having been a fan of our former band, The Harlans for whom I also wrote music for) and the line-up changed to its current form. We started playing some shows and so far people seem to have taken to us. We don't get as many gigs as we would like but we try to make the most out of the gigs that we do get. Download the mp3 and tell us what you think. I think you'll like what you hear if you just give us a chance. -Sean (This is an account by the guitarist Sean Stanley -GC)
