I am a musician who was originally a drummer, turned singer who plays a bit of guitar or whatever I can get my hands on. I love to jam with other musicians and would love to put a band together!
Why this name?
It is my name.
Do you play live?
I have recently started to play open stages wherever I can. I am OK playing drums and singing on stage but need a lot off work playing my guitar and singing at the same time on stage. I wrote a song about it. I Got To Buy Me A Memory. My memory is getting better and so is my stage presence. I've had a few special moments where I was jamming with People on stage who I didn't even know but we fell into the groove and made some magic. I'm always looking for that feeling again.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It changes the industry by giving every musician a forum, instead of letting the record companies decide who or what gets heard.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Only on my terms.
Band History:
Released first album May 2008. "The Whole Dan Rockshow" and second album in Dec. of 2009 "It's Just Me".
Your influences?
Pearl Jam, Ian Reid, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Elvis, Mo' Kauffey, INXS, Stone Temple Pilots, Tragically Hip, Our Lady Peace, The Tea Party, too many to think of!
Favorite spot?
Guelph, sitting in the shade at Riverside Park.
Equipment used:
Ableton recording software (Line 6), Gary Bennet Samick elictric acoustic guitar, keyboards, Thunder Drums, Mienel cajon.
Anything else...?
I love to jam. A lot of my recorded work I can not play on stage because I can't play everything at once. So if you'd ever like to join me on stage feel free.
