This site features songs I wrote and recorded over the last several years with my wife Cathy and various other musical collaborators and friends. The early stuff was done at B-Scene Studios in Edmonton (Thanks Todd!) and the more recent stuff done at home with a Zoom digital recorder. The additional players on these recordings include Bruce Brososky on guitar and bass, Steve Lemiski on drums and percussion, and Graham Calder and Laurent Arams on guitar.  Bruce, Steve, Laurent and I perform as Urban Bunny, and sometimes as Kitty and the Cool Cats (basically a classic rock cover band), with Cathy fronting. Bruce and Cathy each have their own Soundclick sites as well, which you can check out from the links below in my "Fans" section. (kittyxule, Bruce Brososky).
Why this name?
It's my name.
Do you play live?
Occasionally, at discreet Edmonton area locations
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet has made music into a global cottage industry...the power to produce high quality music and distribute it globally has truly brought music back to the people.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I'm a little long in the tooth for that, I'm afraid, but would very much like to see one of my songs recorded by a signed artist.
Band History:
I have played music for 42 years now,  including stints in several part and full time working bands, but my main interest has always been writing and recording. I started with piano as a child, but quickly switched my attention to guitar (more portable, and better for attracting girls). For the purposes of recording, I wanted to be able to play a variety of instruments, and have added bass, mandolin, lap steel and 'dobro', all of which show up in the music here to some extent. My main musical partners have been my wife Cathy, my longtime friend Mike Burchak, and, more recently the ever resourceful and multi-talented Bruce Brososky.  All three have written, performed and recorded with me over the years, and have influenced and helped develop my music immeasurably. I also enjoy helping other artists develop and record their music, and have been privileged to produce and play on recordings of songs by my friends Brenda Briggs (her vocals also appear several times on our recordings) and the Ol' Ditch Pig, Mike Burchak.
Your influences?
The music I play probably reflects many years of listening to people like Bob Dylan, Gram Parsons, The Grateful Dead, John Stewart, The Dillards,  Steve Forbert, Van Morrison, early Fleetwood Mac, and Jackson Browne, but these days the stuff I listen to for my own enjoyment leans more to Enigma, Deep Forest, Cesaria Evora, Regina Carter or Sara Brightman.

Favorite spot?
Home, although South Padre Island TX is also pretty darn fun.
Equipment used:
I use Ibanez, Takamine and Daion electric/acoustic guitars, an older Gibson SG and an Epiphone Les Paul, a souped up Johnson resonator for bottleneck, Goldtone 6 string lap steel and also a Goldtone square-neck ('dobro'). I also have a Kentucky mandolin, but prefer to record and perfrom with my friend Brenda's Fender mandolin. My current bass is an LTD 5 string. I record with a Zoom 16 track digital recorder.
Anything else...?
People say that many of my songs have a sardonic and somewhat cynical humor to them....just the way I see the world I guess. I do seem to write a lot of songs complaining about how bad my woman treats me, but those who know us know that is just for the sake of a good song. Despite anything to the contrary my lyrics may suggest, my wife is the best!
